Data Deletion Policy

Quick Summary: Darajati stores all data locally on your device. You can delete your data instantly by deleting courses in the app or uninstalling the app. For users with Firebase accounts, follow the steps below to request complete account deletion.

1. Overview

This Data Deletion Policy explains how users of Darajati can request deletion of their account and associated data. This policy applies to both guest users (local storage only) and registered users (using Firebase Authentication).

2. Types of Data Collected by Darajati

Darajati collects and stores the following types of data:

3. How to Delete Your Data

Option 1: Guest Users (No Account)

For users who haven't created an account:

1 Open the Darajati app

2 Delete individual courses by swiping left on any course card

3 OR uninstall the app to delete all local data immediately

✓ All data is deleted instantly from your device

Option 2: Registered Users (With Firebase Account)

For users who created an account with email:

1 Open the Darajati app and log in to your account

2 Navigate to Settings (gear icon in top right)

3 Scroll down to the bottom of the Settings page

4 Tap on "Delete Account" button

5 Confirm deletion when prompted

✓ Account and all associated data will be permanently deleted

Option 3: Request Deletion via Email

If you cannot access the app:

1 Send an email to renad.elsafi@outlook.com

2 Subject line: "Darajati Account Deletion Request"

3 Include your registered email address in the message

4 We will process your request within 7 business days

5 You will receive confirmation once deletion is complete

4. What Data Gets Deleted

Immediately Deleted:

All course information (names, instructors, credits)
All grade data (assessments, scores, weights, categories)
All absence records
User profile information (name, emoji, preferences)
Firebase Authentication account
All Firestore database records associated with your account

Data Retained:

None. We do not retain any user data after account deletion
No backup copies are maintained
No analytics or tracking data exists (we don't collect any)

⚠ Important: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. All your courses, grades, and data will be lost forever. Make sure to export any important data before deleting your account.

5. Data Retention Period

Darajati follows a strict data retention policy:

Local Data (Guest Users): Deleted immediately upon app uninstallation
Firebase Account Data: Deleted immediately upon account deletion request (within seconds)
Backup Systems: No backups are created by Darajati (device backups controlled by iOS/Android)
No Grace Period: Deletion is instant and permanent

6. Third-Party Services

If you used Firebase Authentication:

Firebase Authentication records are deleted immediately
Firebase may retain some logs for security purposes (per Google's policy) for up to 180 days
These logs do not contain your personal grade data, only authentication events

7. Your Rights

Under data protection regulations, you have the right to:

Access: View all your data within the app at any time
Export: Export your data before deletion
Delete: Request immediate deletion of all your data
Rectify: Edit or correct any data in the app

8. Children's Data

For users under 18 years of age:

Parents/guardians can request data deletion on behalf of minors
Same deletion procedures apply
No additional personal information is required
